Leadership & Event Management Associate Programme

Designed to cultivate versatile professionals by allowing associates to work concurrently across multiple key functions.

 

Over 24 months, associates will develop a comprehensive understanding of venture capital while engaging in event management and brand-building activities.

 

The programme ensures holistic development in Venture Capital & Deal Sourcing, Event & Partnership Management, and Community Engagement & Brand Building, preparing candidates for leadership roles within Wu Song Capital and beyond.

Looking For

Fresh graduates or young professionals with backgrounds in finance, business, marketing, entrepreneurship, or event management. Ideal candidates are eager to contribute to venture capital, investment, and strategic event management.

Phase 1

During the first year, associates will work in two core areas concurrently.

 

Venture Capital & Deal Sourcing

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct market research to identify investment opportunities in sectors such as technology, health, and sustainability.

2. Assist in financial modelling, due diligence, and company valuations for early-stage startups.

Present investment recommendations to the investment committee, participate in deal-making, and close discussions.


Key Learning Outcomes:

1. Mastery of financial analysis, startup evaluation, and investment decision-making processes.

2. In-depth understanding of the venture capital landscape.
 

Insights

Event & Partnership Management

Responsibilities:

1. Organize and execute key events, such as Startup Showcases, VC Networking Summits, and University Pitch Days.

2. Develop and manage relationships with universities, incubators, corporate VCs, and sponsors to support deal flow.

3. Oversee event planning, logistics, budgeting, and post-event analysis.


Key Learning Outcomes:

1. Expertise in strategic event planning, partnership cultivation, and execution.

2.Skills in project management and relationship building that directly contribute to investment pipelines.

Phase 2

In the second year, associates will continue contributing to Venture Capital & Deal Sourcing while transitioning into the final core

function.

Community Engagement & Brand Building

Responsibilities:

1. Lead initiatives to increase our brand visibility and market presence, including managing 2 digital marketing campaigns and social media strategy.

3. Organize global entrepreneurship competitions and virtual roadshows to expand our influence within the startup ecosystem.

Enhance our positioning through strategic content creation and thought leadership initiatives.

Deepened expertise in brand management and community engagement.

Insight into how building a strong public presence fuels deal flow and partnerships.

Partnerships & Corporate Events

Management trainees will gain exposure to partnerships and corporate events, supporting their planning and execution. This experience will enhance their skills in collaboration and relationship management, preparing them for future leadership roles.

Throughout the program, associates will identify and manage partnerships to enhance our influence and deal-sourcing capabilities. They will collaborate with:

Universities: Partner with top-tier institutions to host competitions and provide mentorship.

Incubators & Accelerators: Work with local and global incubators to source high-potential startups.

Corporate VC Departments: Build joint venture relationships with corporate VC teams for co-investments.

Industry Associations: Engage with associations to co-host industry events.

Corporate Events

Associates will be involved in high-impact events to promote our ecosystem, such as:

Startup Showcase: An annual showcase highlighting high-potential startups.

Investor Networking Summit: A platform for investors to share strategies and insights.

University Pitch Days: Competitions at partner universities, providing winners with seed funding and mentoring.

VC Industry Forums: Thought leadership events focusing on sustainability, technology, and innovation.

Global Virtual Roadshows: Virtual events engaging international startups and investors.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary

RMB 60,000 - 96,000 annually (RMB 5,000 - 8,000 per month), adjusted based on experience.

Performance Bonus

15% - 20% of annual salary is tied to individual performance in sourcing deals, partnerships, and event execution.

Application Process

Step 1: Online Application

Submit your resume, cover letter, and a 250-word essay on “How will venture capital evolve in China over the next decade?”

Step 2: Virtual Case Study & Pitch Presentation

Shortlisted candidates will complete a virtual case study (focused on either deal assessment or event planning) and present a startup investment recommendation.

Step 3: Final Interviews

Candidates will engage in interviews with Wu Song Capital partners, focusing on technical skills, cultural fit, and leadership potential.

Programme Outcomes

Post programme, top performers may be considered for roles such as Investment Associate or Ecosystem Manager within Wu song Capital.
